Chinatown is filled with all sorts of small, often family-run shops, selling all kinds of goods. The offerings are endless, but be sure to check out a stationery store selling cute, trendy notebooks and pens and cards from Japan. Also fun to visit: souvenir shops, which in addition to NYC-themed gifts always carry the latest schoolyard trends, like fidget spinners. And of course, there are shops that sell porcelain goods, and traditional religious or funerary goods like incense and paper money. There’s no wrong way to explore these shops: just go for a wander, poke your head in (you’ll often be surprised by what you find), and don’t be afraid to ask questions!
